The Letter

Which one of us has not received the well-known letter that has been around for several years? You know the one I mean? The one where you send in one dollar to five or six people and send out a mailing with your name added to the last spot. You’ve probably received it many times.

Have you ever wondered if these letters actually work? Do people actually make money from them? I, like many of you, used to throw them out. Truth be told, it was after reading every word of them and then convincing myself that if this was true, why aren’t many people doing it. Well, I have to say, the longevity of these letters and the fact that they consistently keep coming back to me, prompted me to take another look at these letters. After all, if they did not work, people would not keep sending them.

So, today, 2009-09-09, I have decided to invest a small amount to try out one of these letters. There are several different versions. I am taking one that is 4 pages long. The only twist I am adding is a reference to this web page. I will keep a running update of the progress I go through to document this for others. I will cover the math, and upload images of the letter that I send.

One other thing that encouraged me is that I got this letter one year ago from someone who has done what I am about to do. He documented his progress to a large extent and shows a good experience. Let us see if I can repeat it. His information is below.
